A rare, honest political speech..

We as Americans obviously live in an extremely polarized world where prior to even hearing an argument, many are for or against it based purely on the source or political background. When Donald Trump was about to announce his recent choice for a Supreme Court judge (Brett Kavanaugh), Chuck Schumer essentially said that regardless of who was selected, he would vote no.
This is how we destroy our democracy. When our elected officials stop thinking about issues based on their merits and just rubber stamp them based on party affiliation, then the process of developing the laws of our land stops being thoughtful. It then fails to give us anything close to an optimal solution.
This Brett Kavanaugh argument is such a situation. Very few of our elected officials have actually looked deep into the facts. And many of the protesters have ZERO CLUE about any history of Kavanaugh's legal opinions. I strongly believe in free speech but educated free speech is a lot more valuable that uninformed free speech.
Susan Collins just gave, in my opinion, one of the most compelling political speeches I've ever heard. Listen to it (starting about 5 minutes into the video) and see if you agree. Regardless of your view of this situation, this is worth a hearing
